The BDR Group operates in more than 70 countries worldwide and employs more than 6,400 people across 19 European countries with a turnover of €1.8 billion. It has a top market position in six key countries.

The brief

Capita was engaged to work on sourcing initiatives to deliver initial savings and to transform the delivery and management strategies behind specific categories and creating the steady state contract management solution. To do this, we needed to provide a range of services including:

  • Spend diagnostics
  • Development of integrated sourcing strategies
  • Deployment of technology
  • Use of category experts
  • Development of the long-term indirect procurement strategy
  • Clarity of roles and responsibilities


Action taken

Our team focused on developing the tools and processes that underpinned the wider procurement strategy for the Group, as well as the expertise to drive savings across a broad portfolio of categories with a value of €210m. The aim of the team was to support BDR to develop a self sufficient best in class European procurement department.
