The brief

The Capita partnership with Southampton City Council has been highly commended as part of Business in the Community’s 2013 Responsible Business Awards.

Community

Action taken

The Local Impact Awards specifically celebrate companies and individuals who are creating local impact in their community, through initiatives such as volunteering and inspiring young people with work placements.   Capita achieved the Highly Commended Local Impact award in the Volunteer of the Year, which recognises businesses that have made volunteering the cultural norm, engaging employees across the business, whilst demonstrating an impact on the local community and those involved.

The result

“The Responsible Business Awards shine the spotlight on an aspect of business that very rarely gets much public recognition – and that is its ability and willingness to truly transform lives, communities and society for the better. Our Highly Commended Award achievers are at the heart of driving genuine change within local communities. I congratulate Capita for this achievement. We hope their example will inspire many more businesses across the area to put responsible behaviour at the heart of how they do business.”
